Scan & Play

Scan sheet music. Hear it. Practice it.

Scan & Play turns paper sheet music into living, playable scores. Photograph a page — or import a PDF or MusicXML file — and practice it on your violin with real-time pitch feedback, a moving score cursor, and a built-in metronome.

Highlights

From paper to practice in one flow

Every violinist has a folder of paper scores and PDFs. Scan & Play makes them playable: optical music recognition converts the page into a digital score you can listen to, edit measure by measure, and practice against — with the app listening and marking every note you play.

Scan any score
Point your camera at printed sheet music, or import a photo, PDF, or MusicXML file. Scan & Play's recognition engine converts the page into an editable digital score in under a minute. Fix any recognition slip right in the app — pitches, rhythms, chords, and ties are all editable per measure.

Hear it, follow it
Press play and your score comes alive with sampled violin sound while a cursor tracks the notation. Drag the playback bar to resume from any spot — perfect for looping the passage you're working on.

Practice with live feedback
Start a practice session and play. The app listens through the microphone, detects your pitch in real time, and advances the cursor as you hit each correct note — with instant sharp/flat feedback and a per-note report (perfect, good, off, missed) at the end. Choose free-flowing pitch-only practice or strict tempo mode, with a metronome always one tap away.

Built for violin
Playback uses real violin samples and pitch detection is tuned for bowed strings. More instruments are planned.
Works offline
Your library, playback, editing, and practice all work in airplane mode. Only the scan conversion step needs a connection.
Private by design
No account, no ads, no analytics. Microphone audio never leaves your device, and scanned images are deleted from our server the moment conversion finishes.
Your library, your device
Every score you save lives locally on your phone. We keep no copy.
